The conference was jointly hosted by the CPC Liuzhou Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Liuzhou Municipality. Key municipal CPC Committee and government leaders, including Zhang Zhuang, Secretary of the CPC Liuzhou Municipal Committee, and Liu Shengyou, Mayor of Liuzhou, attended the event, together with representatives from leading enterprises, heads of higher education institutions, and industry experts. Participants gathered to discuss strategies and pathways for Liuzhou's industrial development. Gan Jinming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC LZPU Committee and President of LZPU, was invited to attend and, as the only representative from a local higher education institution, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Innovating Industry-education Integration Models to Empower the High-quality Development of Liuzhou's Advanced Manufacturing through High-quality Vocational Education", contributing new perspectives and ideas to Liuzhou's industrial synergistic development.

In his speech, Gan Jinming noted that Liuzhou, as a key industrial city in Guangxi, possesses a solid manufacturing foundation and a well-developed industrial chain. As a key institution in China's vocational education internationalization landscape, which is often described as "Tianjin in the north and Guangxi in the south", the university has closely aligned itself with Liuzhou's industrial layout and transformation and upgrading needs. By consistently upholding its distinctive approach of industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation, it has explored and established an "industry-education integration" development pathway with LZPU characteristics, providing strong support for the high-quality development of Liuzhou's advanced manufacturing sector.

Gan Jinming then elaborated on the university's active exploration and notable achievements in serving local industrial development from three aspects: precise alignment of academic programs with industry needs, talent cultivation and collaborative innovation platform development, and the international expansion of vocational education. He pointed out that the alignment rate between the university's major design and the city's pillar industries, emerging industries, and characteristic industries exceeds 93%, forming a dual-wheel-driven development pattern of "traditional manufacturing upgrading + intelligent technology empowerment". The university has focused on building a "4+4+1" vocational education undergraduate major cluster, creating a development structure centered on engineering disciplines with interdisciplinary integration of management, arts, and other fields. At the same time, it has actively expanded into emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and integrated circuits, continuously improving its major system.

In terms of talent cultivation and collaborative innovation platform development, the university has taken a leading role in advancing the development of city-level industry-education integration platforms, such as industry-education consortia and industry colleges. Among these, the Guangxi (Liuzhou) Automobile Industry-Education Consortium has been recognized as a national municipal industry-education consortium and selected as a typical case of industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation by the Ministry of Education, serving as a national benchmark in the field of industry-education integration. In 2025, the university partnered with industry leaders like 360 Digital Security Group to establish industry colleges in new quality productive forces, including artificial intelligence and low-altitude economy, providing solid support for technological breakthroughs and professional talent cultivation in Liuzhou's emerging industries.

Regarding the international expansion of vocational education, the university has focused on the shortage of manufacturing-related talents in ASEAN countries. In collaboration with enterprises, it has established 5 international craftsman colleges, 4 international training centers, and 2 international industry colleges. In recent years, the university has served 12 Chinese-funded enterprises, trained more than 500 international students, sent over 200 Chinese students to study abroad, and provided training for more than 8,000 overseas employees of enterprises.

Looking ahead, the university will thoroughly implement the spirit of this conference, with the goal of building a domestically leading, high-level vocational and technical university. It will further integrate itself into regional industrial development, cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents, and contribute LZPU's wisdom and strength to advancing Chinese modernization in Guangxi and the Liuzhou model of Chinese modernization.
